“I enjoy working with a wide variety of images of places, buildings and object. Through my work I try to bring a sense of realism and find it exciting to work in a variety of media matching them with the subject being painted.” From the rustic beauty of his native West Virginia to historic buildings and scenes along the Eastern seaboard, Terry’s watercolor paintings, pastel paintings and original hand-colored etchings reflect his own life and memories. Terry has been involved with color all his life. With a major degree in biology and a minor in chemistry, he began his career in the cosmetic industry. His technical and aesthetic fascination with color led to painting and eventually to producing hand-colored etchings.
After moving to Myrtle Beach a few years ago, he quickly became involved with the Artist community and currently exhibits in several galleries in the Myrtle Beach area and North Carolina. He has exhibited in juried shows at the Myrtle Beach Art Museum and ArtFields 2017 and 2019 in Lake City, South Carolina as well as other shows throughout the Southeast where he has won many awards. He was published in the Artist of the Carolinas and has several of his watercolors in limited edition prints. Terry was selected as one of thirty-five printmakers from around the world to participate in the 2017 International Print Exchange Programme, Mumbai, India.
Terry has taught a workshop on Intaglio/Etching teaching other artists on the basic techniques of producing etchings. He enjoys helping to educate other artists and art enthusiasts about the exciting medium of printmaking.
